Can the toothbrush be recycled?

Of course! You can dispose of your used brush handle into compost because bamboo is 100% biodegradable.

What about the bristles?

To boost the hygienic properties of the brush, the bristles consist of nylon and are not compostable. The bristles may be removed with tweezers before composting the handle. You may contact your local recycling facility to optimize a solution for recycling the bristles.

Even if there are no other options available, the bristles will have to be landfilled resulting in less than .01 ounces of plastic waste, a significant stride in our uphill battle against the 8.3 billion tons of plastic. Of that 8.3 billion tons less than 10% is recycled properly.
